"Here's the cause of fully 50% of the fires," say the Fire Chiefs in this 1927 brochure.
What's the cause? Rubbish, trash, paper, rags & etc. found around the home!
Lucky for us, the brochure goes on to extoll the virtues of the solution to this problem: Burn that trash inside your home!

With the news of Disney purchasing
Marvel Comics being released through various media outlets, we wanted to share
our thoughts on the issue. Most opinions we have received and read seem to be
about the same: the people are not happy. They fear what Disney will do to
their beloved company and characters.
We here at Back to the Past are quite
optimistic however. We became short of breath thinking of all the glorious crossovers
that can now happen! We've compiled
the top storylines/projects we would love to see, now that they can happen at
any given moment:

Hey
guys, long time no talk. I was originally going to write a scathing
article/review about the crap-fest that was the Ultimatum miniseries. I was going to ramble on about what Jeph
Loeb did wrong and how utterly disgusted I was, but I will just briefly talk
about that.
About 7 years ago my girlfriend at the time was going away
for school, and naturally I helped with the move. Her little brother came with
us and he had brought along stacks of Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate X-Men. At this time I hadn’t read or collected a comic
book in over a decade, and I had next to no interest in reading any now.
However, I hate car rides if I’m not driving and those comics began to look
pretty good.
I picked up Ultimate X-Men and instantly fell in love. I burned through all of the issues he had
brought and moved on to Ultimate Spider-Man. I was so
enthralled that I skipped dinner on the ride home to keep reading. The next day
I ran into a quaint little comic book store called Back to the Past and bought
the first 2 trade paperbacks of both series. From that point on I was a
collector again.

We've been providing this sheet at the store for a while and occasionally getting them out on the flyer table at comics shows, but due to popular demand we've finally made it available as a download from the website.
While iPhones and Blackberries have made electronic want lists more available than ever, sometimes it's handy to have a simple paper check sheet to track what comics you need. Use the front of the sheet to track longer runs, grouped by the 100's, up to 1000 total books in a run. Use the back of the sheet to track shorter runs or miniseries.

In honor of the Woodward Dream Cruise, a little history of various important cars in comics and pop culture:
The original 1966 TV Batmobile!
Taken from a 1955 Lincoln concept Futura, George Barris helped this vehicle storm into our hearts and homes on January 12, 1966.
Green Hornet’s Black Beauty!
Dean Jeffries (noted set designer for Star Trek, the Original Series), was tasked with creating the look for Green Hornet’s signature vehicle and used a 1996 Chrysler Imperial.
